Draft statement Of Aims:
My print production will be an original music magazine called Rising weekly, which has been built over the years from social media blogs for young artists and influencers who are building their way up the ladder into the higher ranks of the industry. I will use the frame from magazines such as Billboard, because of the appropriate layout and conventions used which is ideal when targeting my audience within the age groups of 16 and above. I will include cover lines that are relevant to the type of magazine industry that I am trying to get across which is music and I will use artist from this generation in order to attract the right audience as well. I will use a mixture of male and female artists in the cover lines to encourage equally between male and female upcoming artists.
My intention is to use to different people within my magazine a female model as my front cover and the main artist of my music production as the double page spread this is to continue to build a mystery, for the 'face behind the name' - I also believe using the female model as my main front cover image will attract both genders of my audience due to the body language she will present as well as her appearance making people curious as to what magazine she's apart of as well as, her sense of style, and how the public will question how she looks so 'flawless'. Majority of my font on the front page will be in Serif to portray the confidence of the and strong meaning behind the coverlids and the title of magazine making my audience take more consideration as well as respected attitude towards it. Within my cover lines I will use names of real artists for familiarity to the audience so that they are more comfortable with reading the magazine assured that the names used, are of artists that they know and they suit them best.
For my double page spread I will use the layout of the main image taking up one whole page the interview between the participant and the interviewer on the next page. The use of the main image commencing on a page by itself is for the readers to have a clear and long lasting image of the artist in their head- and to build a more personal connection with the artists as you are able to tell a lot from a photo therefore the more clearer and bigger the image the more you are able to analysis and read between the image whilst also reading the interview to gain deeper depth into the artists life- the use of the image will also be used for the reader to make his answers to the interview questions seem more realistic as they are able to understand where his answers may be coming from. As well as the main image I will also include a miniature image of the artists amongst the text of the interview- this image will present a contrast between itself and main image of the artist to show two different sides of her- this will hopefully great a positive diversity between the lifestyle she may show and the lifestyle she actually lives.
Double Page Spread questions and answers:
1. What made you want to get into the music industry in the first place?
In all honesty music wasn’t my first choice. From when i was younger I had a passion for dancing, I trained at Pineapple Studios, I took part in all the dance festivals in primary school and even studied dance, performing arts and dance as an A-Level. However, my safe-haven was always music and although I favour a lot of artists who are very well-known for example Drake, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar etc I always believed that something was missing for me to relate on a greater level therefore I started writing my own music and using my friends beats to make it come to life even more. Eventually, my main focus became my music and i believe I wouldn't of gotten to that stage if it wasn't for my passion in dance i don't believe music would of become an importance in my life.
2. What was your original format idea for the music video?
I planned to combine a slideshow of clips from different events that I have taken part in through the last year or two to show that although us as an economy has been through a pandemic - we only ever get 1 life and that we should live it to the fullest despite the circumstances. However, whilst I want to enjoy the life I have I still understand the safety aspect to all the actions I was carrying out- which is an example I want to set to the generation that supports and follows me within my music career. I also plan to shoot current clips of me and my family on some excursions in London. I will, however add an additional twist which I hope will leave my audience with the impression that they have seen an insight of my life, hopefully influencing some of the negative views that some people have taken upon me as a South East London artist.
3. How long do you think it will take you to complete the music video?
Overall, I don't intend for it to take more than 6months to year to completely film and have put together the music video because I want to capture the reality side of my life and that takes a period of time in order to capture and participate in many activities. Furthermore, it also takes time to produce a music video worthy to be shown to the world and uploaded to a public site for example YouTube. I believe it would take me longer to complete the video as I direct and illustrate the music video myself due to my enjoyment in music video production. I have been producing and making music videos myself since my sisters started needing help with editing their videos.
